Braised Chicken with Apples

Serves-4

Ingredients
1 pound boneless chicken breasts
Pam Olive Oil Spray
2 cups chopped apples (about 2 to 3 apples)
1 small onion
1 clove garlic
3/4 cup of Republic of Tea Apple Cider Tea
2 teaspoons fresh chopped sage

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients

  1. Preheat the oven to 325
  2. Chop the apples, onion and garlic and set them aside
  3. Chop the sage
  4. Prepare the tea

    Make the Recipe

Heat Pam olive oil spray in a cast iron skillet or dutch oven over high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook until they become golden – about 2 minutes, flip them over and cook 2 minutes more and remove them the heat. Add more Pam spray to the pan and reduce the heat to medium – high. Add the garlic and onions and cook until they begin to soften. Turn the heat off and stir in the apple chunks. Top the apple mixture with the chicken breasts, pour the tea over all making sure that the chicken is no more than 3/4 submerged in the liquid. Cover and bake at 325 for 1 1/2 hours. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh sage, cover and allow it to sit for 5 minutes before serving.

    Notes
    • Swap out the Apple Cider Tea for any of the Republic of Tea Apple Tea Blends, like this caramel apple red tea .
    • Add the fresh sage at the very end of cooking, for the freshest flavor.
