Darlene Paluf, RDN, LD

Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, Program Director

Darlene began her interest in medical weight management in 1984 as nutrition director of the original Mt. Sinai Optifast program in Cleveland. In this capacity, she had the opportunity to work with the three physicians who invented Optifast and pioneered its use. We can truly say that Darlene’s experience with Optifast is more than most other programs nationally. Darlene earned her BS degree in Medical Dietetics from Ohio State University.

In addition to nutritional counseling, Darlene conducts the private free orientations to discuss our program options. She is highly involved in accepting, supporting, and following our patients from weight loss through maintenance. Darlene has now taken her weight management expertise to the workplace. She developed, implemented, and manages an Optifast employee weight management program on-site locally at a Fortune 500 company. Darlene also has an interest in obesity research. She has participated in several obesity investigational drug trials. Some of these new drugs are now FDA approved and used by our patients. Darlene is a member of the Cleveland Dietetic Association, the Ohio Dietetic Association, and the American Dietetic Association.
